3rd Grade Social Studies
3rd Grade Social Studies - $375 per year + $25 supply fee
The 3rd Grade, Social Studies students, will be encouraged to explore their world and expand their thinking through introductions to civics, economics, geography, and history concepts, and projects. Students will develop critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills. The student workbook will prompt them to read through the lesson, and complete comprehension checks, designed to improve retention and understanding. The class will include the following geography lessons in exploring the ecosystem, identifying natural resources in the U.S., discovering places and regions around the world. As a part of Social Studies, we will learn the elements of maps and globes, learn about our past and present history, citizenship, and the Constitution. These lessons will be enhanced by completing hands-on projects. This class studies African American Heroes/Sheroes as a part of history.
