High School American Literature - $360 + $25 supply fee

This study of American Literature includes works from the founding of the nation to contemporary pieces. Students will read, discuss, and analyze short stories, poetry, drama, novels, and speeches by American authors. Emphasis is placed on distinguishing aspects of the various genres and elements of literature such as point of view, character, setting, plot, figurative language, theme, imagery, symbolism, and more. Students will engage literary work through comprehension questions and in-class discussions. They will also learn how to write response papers and literary analysis papers.

Parent-Teacher Expectations: Prior to signing up, it is understood that parent-teachers have thoroughly vetted the literature books to your home/lifestyle choices and beliefs.
