High School Advanced Math (Trigonometry & Pre-Calculus)
High School Advanced Math - ($470 per year + $5 copy/materials fee)
Prerequisite: Students must have successfully completed Algebra II and Geometry or Saxon Algebra I AND Saxon Algebra II maintaining a C+ average in order to take this course. Students who complete the Algebra 2 AND the Geometry classes are best prepared for this class.
Advanced Math (Saxon): Students will conclude their discussion of Geometry, further investigate non-linear concepts and study Trigonometry topics. The textbook for this course is Saxon Advanced Math. Students may earn ½ Geometry credit with their Advanced Math credit upon completion of the course. Students with a full Geometry credit when entering this class, may earn honors credit for this class. Student Expectations: Because this is an incremental study requiring “time in the material,” students must be prepared to complete between three - four homework lessons each week and two - three quarterly tests or quizzes. The tutor will provide tests and quizzes - DO NOT purchase Saxon test packet for this course. Due to the rigor of this class, if your student is new to Saxon, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that your student participate in the Advanced Math summer prep classes. Contact Mrs. Bracey regarding this.
