High School Physics
High School Physics - $450 per year + $100 Lab Fees
Prerequisites: Algebra 2 (with Trigonometry - basic functions), Geometry, Biology and Chemistry or Physical Science
This is a college-prep physics course designed for students who have a strong work ethic to study on their own and complete assignments. It provides a detailed introduction to the methods and concepts of general physics. The curriculum includes engaging lessons, experiments, and practice problems to enhance learning. Heavily emphasizing vector analysis, this text is ideal preparation for a university-level physics course. It provides the student with a strong background in one-dimensional and two-dimensional motion, Newton's laws and their application, gravity, work and energy, momentum, periodic motion, waves, optics, electrostatics, electrodynamics, electrical circuits, and magnetism.
Throughout this course, students will connect textbook instruction with hands-on experiments for maximum learning. Students are guided through key learning strategies such as thinking critically about what they are learning, identifying important parts of the information presented, taking meaningful notes, and completing experiments.
This class is recommended for 11th and 12th grade students.
